Quality food, quality service. Will be going again

This is an awesome place to visit and I would say a must when in Esperance. Food is delicious and loving made, along with fantastic friendly service. Looking forward to my next visit

What a terrible reception, wouldnt eat here even for free!! We asked for a table and the waitress went to kitchen talk to the chef as we were standing and waiting, as she comes to us she says: we have a set menu and the price is 30 dollars entrees only, 45 entree+ main and 70 dollars for 3 courses, do you still want to stay? We were confused why she didnt sit us in a table and just handled us the menu as any other restaurant. She kept going: take a look and if you decide to stay I will get you a table. It was like we didnt belong to the place or shouldnt be there. Terrible customer service!

I have to say this was one of the weirdest, yet charming dining experiences I've had. That includes eating all sorts of weird and wonderful things through Asia. I'd have given this 5 stars except there are too many things that just weren't quite right, I'd have given it 3 or 2 stars except for there was a certain charm those off elements gave to the whole experience.I'll start with the weird/ bad stuff and finish with the best parts. Firstly the colour scheme needs an overhaul, lime green front and menus is really strange considering the place is looking to position itself in the upper end of the market. Whilst on presentation the decor is dated, daggy and the TV screens, fire extinguisher hose in prominent spots just cheapens the feel of the place. Putting even 20k into concept with an interior designer/ putting those concepts in place would take this place to a whole new level and secure you many of the cashed up tourists that visit the area. The place was extremely clean though, no issues there, just dated and a bit tacky would be the best way to describe it.Further on, little things like the waitress not knowing what beers were on tap, where the oysters were from, serving 5 oysters in a serving rather than 6 or 12, two sets of cutlery for entree and main but both being the same size, paper napkins, menu with no prices next the the meals leaving us with no idea how much our bill was going to be (there is a somewhat confusing pricing structure on page 1 of the lime green menu); all examples of little things that didn't actually kill our experience, they were kind of funny and quirky but it doesnt allow the dining to go to any next level of experience. I think those things cost you where people stay for a long time, spend a lot of money and repeat business for people looking for something higher end.On to the good stuff, the food was fresh, it was great, lamb shanks were slightly underdone, could have been low and slow a little longer but all in all it was very edible and the flavors were great. First bunch of good oysters we have had in our travels from Perth and I was very happy as the waitress backed the quality when I asked her and she was correct. The table service (despite some simple lack of product knowledge) was brilliant, happy, attentive and doing everything they could to give us a good experience even when they weren't sure they made sure to find out the answer and come back with it.Pricing was reasonable, slightly more than I think it should have been, however, with a better all round experience with issues mentioned above taken care of I think that could be charged and even more comfortably.Very strange, I'm not sure if I loved it or not, I gave it 4 stars, so cant be too bad. Not sure who owns the place but with some money put into it, could be a seriously cool place, has all the backbones to be a hot spot for all locals and tourists. I almost wanted to buy it as I sat there last night and do it myself. Good luck and we will be back, I think?!?

Good food always. Weird system for meals. Something I have never seen in over 100 countries I've travelled through. A little expensive. Food brilliant.
